Literature Text

There was once a time when
You would look in my eyes
And tell me everything will be alright
There was once a time when
I would look in your eyes
And see the fire burning so bright
That time has gone and I guess
I haven’t moved on
I still hug my pillow each night

Do you know what it’s like
Trying to fight what’s inside?
Do you know what it’s like
Staring out at the starless night all alone?

There was once a time when
I would take a walk with you
And you’d always be smiling
There was once a time when
You would brush my tender cheek
Whenever I started crying
That time has gone and I guess
I haven’t moved on
I just feel like I’m dying

Do you know what it’s like
Trying to fight what’s inside?
Do you know what it’s like
Staring out at the starless night?
Do you know what it’s like
Not having someone at your side?
And do you know what it’s like
Watching everyone that goes by all alone?

I remember the time
When I looked in your eyes
And the spark was gone
I remember that time
I tried to ignite
The spark that was gone
Do you know what it’s like
Trying to fight the tears in your eyes?
Do you know what it’s like
To make mistakes every time
And never have a chance to make them right?
I just want you by my side...

But I’m so alone
Oh, I’m so alone tonight.

Do you know what it's like? I do. I just wrote this song in the spur of the moment, in the midst of thinking about why... why me? This song, is about being alone... and the one person that made your life seem whole...
...faded away like an evanescent whisper...

First song I've submitted in over a month, I know, I'm not too proud of it but... I've managed to come up with a display image that suits it nicely. I just manipulated a really old webcam picture.
